Perhaps it is a trend now that kids don't only get a cake on their birthday but they are also treated to their favourite character(s) made in agar-agar (aka jelly). Yes... at least that was what both my god-daughter and god-son got this year for their respective birthdays... a HUGE cake plus a custom-made visual treat from their mum, who always go to great lengths to delight them on such special occasions. The kids simply loved them and even the adults were intrigued.
